Nintendo announced via Twitter that the Animal Crossing Sanrio Collection Pack, including all six Sanrio amiibo cards, will be exclusively available in the US for the first time at Target starting on March 26 - only about a week after Animal Crossing: New Horizon's 1-year anniversary. Sanrio is responsible for marketing kawaii characters from Japanese pop-culture such as Hello Kitty & Friends, Gudetama, and Netflix's Aggretsuko. Each card offers a unique villager that can only be obtained by using that card, as well as exclusive Sanrio character-themed furniture. The Sanrio x Animal Crossing amiibo cards were originally released in Japan for intended use in Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the Nintendo 3DS. While US Animal Crossing players can already use the Japanese versions of these amiibo cards, this will be the first time Nintendo has offered them locally to US residents. The Animal CrossingX Sanriocrossover amiibo cards are finally coming to the United States for the first time since their original release in 2016, and, with luck, they'll arrive with better Animal Crossing: New Horizons functionality than the Japanese cards currently offer.
